Agent Strawberry Fields

Is the name of Gemma Arterton's character in Quantum of Solace, and that is who I am dressed up as here for tonight's fancy dress not royal wedding party! I've give a low key beehive do a go, with about one thousand clips and a polka dot hairband. I've tried to make my make up as sixties chic as possible, and I'm wearing a shift dress and suspender stockings with wedges to match.

Macaroon Pallette

A trip to Selfridges with my darling Holly the other day saw me having a macaroon fetish moment. They definitely beat cupcakes, like the far superior older sister.

Being me, I did of course decide to match nail polish to the macaroons.... A mixture of Barry M and Nail Inc.

Yes this is how I spend my afternoons off work in the sun.
I'm an extremely important person, obviously.
Favourite macaroon flavour? BETTER BE PISTACHIO! Let me know :)

Maxed out

This is a Dorothy Perkins maxi dress, maxi dresses are all of the moment, now I'm not brave enough to try a fully flowing one, I don't think I'm near tall or exotic enough to do so being a pitiful white middle class girl of 5ft 5".
I love the tshirt or jersey based ones because they can be dressed up as glamorous or casual as you like, my hips may be pointing a bit too outward for my liking in these photos, but I still think the dress is super cute and perfect for city or beach wear! Have any of you got any good maxi dresses? Let me know!

Coachella

Coachella music festival really seemed to be invaded by fashion scouts and touts this year, which to be honest really did overshadow the epic artists showcasing at the festival such as The Kills and The Black Keys.
It seemed to be surrounded by celebs looking for a low key weekend, and here are my favourite outfit picks.

Alexa Chung in Phillip Ling 3.1

Now if you know me, then you know that I have a massive hatred for Alexa Chung (A style icon should not have a stylist) but I can't fault this outfit, Phillip Lim just screams summer style, and it looks so effortlessly european and chic.

Rye Rye in killer shorts and Doc Martens.

Although I never would in my life have the legs to pull off such an outfit, I absolutely love this, the neon pink colour looks amazing on Rye Rye's skin tone and the cut of the shorts really flatters her amazing figure. And the boots are just up there in one of the most amazing things I have ever seen.

Eliza Doolittle in a Topshop watermelon tank (LOVE) and a Mulberry bag.

Now I do think that Eliza Doolittle looks a little too skinny here. (Note this is strictly an AGAINST rex blog) but the outfit is too cute for words. The watermelon cropped tshirt with colourful shorts and a turquoise mulberry bag is one of the best outfits of the festival.

Kelly Osbourne in AX Armarni Exchange.

I love this! The classy blue polkadot dress can be so overdone, but it works so much with Kelly's colouring and the leather jacket gives it such a Marylin touch!

Harley Viery Newton in Juicy Couture with a Celine bag.

The shift dress with floral detail is gorgeous, it's so summery and playful and really fits Harley's summery hippy hair.

Katy Perry in D&G.

If anyone can get away with a maxi dress, it's Katy Perry. The lace and layering really accentuates her figure and fills the void between day and evening wear.

Tali Lennox in Allsaints.

This is absolutely amazing me, the dress is so gorgeous and makes her lean figure look stunning. Boho Hippie has really never looked so good.

Theresa Palmer in Allsaints.

Everyone seemed to be in Allsaints this season, and the orange patterned dress has proved such a big hit!
Theresa Palmer looks amazing in it with a waisted leather belt and oversized summer hat!

Elle does Coco Rocha in head to toe Gaultier

This is the Elle Quebec cover for may 2011, and featured editorial on our favourite model of edge, Coco Rocha.
The shoot features Coco's trademark blunt fringe, and dark make up, teamed with those infamous menacing poses, proving she's far more Tyra than Jesse J. Throughout the whole shoot she is dressed from head to toe in the legendary french couture label, Gaultier, the lucky bluntly dressed model even got to scope at pieces from the archives!

And the party was jumping jumping

Recently I have been going through some hard things and so I really just haven't had the time to blog, but now that I'm back and ready to update I thought I'd show you something new!

This is my new jumpsuit. It's navy, and a polyester viscose mix. The ribbon ties in at the waist and the legs are hemmed so they can be pulled up for summer.

Handpainted Nebula Wedges

I found these beauties on tumblr this morning, they're pretty much amazing me.
They are 100% handpainted shoes using acrylic paints on faux suede heeled wedges. The entire shoe has been finished off with a matt varnish for weather durability, to help them upstand all weather conditions.

For anyone who is interested they are made by a tiny company called KUSTOM KIX and available to buy here at Etsy.com

They are handpainted when each order is placed and therefore any customisations such as text or images can be easily added to your shoes! Each pair does need a three week gap from ordering to shipping in order for them to be made, but there is no extra charge for customisations! The company also take commissions for different patterns or shoe types!

Like these sneakers here, originally suggested by a customer...

The shoes are made and shipped from France, so it's a £6 fee to france, a £13.50 charge to the EU, and a £20 ($35) to the rest of the world.

AVAILABLE IN THOSE SIZES:
5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 (USA size)
36, 37, 38, 39, 40, 41 (European size)
3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 (UK size)

I personally think they are quite possibly the most amazing things I have ever seen, and the fact that they are handpainted and £113! ($180) is boggling to me, come pay day I will definitely be buying these for my upcoming trip to Paris!

What do you think? Do you have any other internet finds?

Decarnin leaves Balmain!

So you all know that I'm in the process of making this blog about editorials a bit more, so for my first, Christophe Decarnin has left Balmain

Decarnin has been creative director of Balmain since 2007, and joined the thriving Paris based company in 2005. According to the company's report, Decarnin's decision to leave was fuelled by an argument against the chairman Alain Helvin. A statement has been issued following the departure.

'Since 1945, the house of Pierre Balmain has been one of the leading French and international luxury brands. Christophe Decarnin’s work with the house’s design team contributed to the success that the brand has enjoyed in recent years.'

Although Decarnin was a no show for Balmain at Paris fashion week, mere weeks ago, it was rumoured that he was in fact given doctor's orders not to work. The position has already been filled by an unknown designer at Balmain but with regards to Decarnin's next move, the rumour mill is already afloat with the current vacancy available at Dior.
