Flower Power!

It's been a very long time since I did an outfit post so I thought I would do a very summery one!
Last week on the way to a 44 Frocks Party, I had a wander through Hackney Market on Broadway and found this lovely little 80s floral number at a vintage thrift store. It's a Christian Laure from Paris and is so eighties! It's my perfect summer frock!

These pictures were all taken by my lovely boyfriend in the garden, and they feel so lovely and summery! The bit in the middle of the waist is perfect for hiding my not so yummy tummy aswell!

Hope you're all fabulous!

LCF Induction Outfit

So the time is here, when I was twelve I ordered the London College of Fashion prospectus and said "This is where I am going!" The girls with Oxford and Manchester prospectuses scoffed at me, but I didn't really care, I knew where I was going, and after much blogging, interning, coffee runs, waffling on personal statements and mascara being applied in the loos before my interview, I am here.

So in little over a month I'll be on my way to getting a fashion degree from one of the most famous places in the industry, internationally. A little perplexing.

Any thoughts? I'll let you know what I come up with :)

Skincare at the Ifabbo event

Ifabbo is a networking agency for beauty, fashion and style bloggers, originally started in the USA and run from their base in Los Angeles they have now branched out to the UK and soon launching in Australia.

To celebrate their exansion to the UK, they thew an event at the ever so lovely Powder Room behind Carnaby Street, I was lucky enough to be invited with many other beauty bloggers to see speeches from some of the sponsoring cosmetic companies and sample their new collections.

One of the skincare brands there was the American based, Murad Skincare, invented by Dr Murad and reigning as the leading skincare brand in Sephora in the USA.

Murad Anti Aging Mousturiser
The moistuiser is part of the hydrate and protect skin step of their skincare lines. The consistency is thick and lusturous, it manages to have enough coverage for my entire face with a small amount and yet still remains non drippy with a thick effect for my skin. It's targeted at blemish prone skin, and I don't particularly suffer from colour related blemises on my skin so I can really only test the effects on my dry and combiation skin, but I don't see why it wouldn't help blemishes. It also has the benefit of SPF 20, making it a perfect summer moistuiser.

Energising Pomegranate Lip Protector SPF 15

This is great to use both as a lip moisturiser, protector for summer and gloss. Summer can be really unhealthy for your lips and make it really easy for them to chap, split and dry out. This moisturises your lips throughout any weather, stops them from chipping and protects them with SPF 15, again making it another must have summer product. It does all the goodness of a balm with a glossy effect, giving you the best of both worlds. Now I've never particularly been a lipgloss girl, it kind of gets everywhere, makes your hair stick to your teeth, but for those girls that do, this is awesome.

Acne and Wrinkle Reducer

This is a cleanser with a gel like consistency to be applied prior to moisturizer. It has a mint like tinge that creates a duey touch to your skin. It works brilliantly to wake up your skin and make a lovely start to any beauty regime. I wouldn't say it's a must have product, but it's good cleanser and you can almost feel the goodness that it's doing to your skin.

Nourishing Eye Cream

This is hands down the best eye cream I have ever used. It has intense moisture for a product with such a light consistency. It hydrates your bags so easily, I loved it so much that I even lent it to my boyfriend's mother to see how she rated it, she also loved it madly. I admit I hadn't actually used Colbert MD products before, but now I'm fully converted and am excited to learn more about them!

A weekend in Frome

So Eddie and I were lucky enough to have a weekend away in Somerset, we went to a place called Frome (yes the home place of that hot formula one Button guy from the gillette advert). It was his grandparent's 50th wedding anniversary and so it was a bit of a family get together with champagne bottles, pretty dresses and a church service. Although Ed and I did manage to escape for one afternoon to have a wander around the countryside. It's always amusing to turn on foursquare and to see the nearest noticable location to be three thousand miles away. (which was actually the mulberry factory for anyone interested)

I thought it was a good opportunity for a topical outfit post. Here I'm wearing:

Blouse: Primark £5
Midi Skirt: Urban Outfitters £10
Shoes: H+M £14.99
Bag: Mulberry Alexa

It's rare that I get to do an outfit post with such a beautiful setting as the weather was lovely, the sun was out, it wasn't too windy or hot and it really was just a perfect summer day.

Excuse the ironing and scattered backsetting of these photos, but to say that morning was stressful would be an understatement. But everyone look at the pretty bouquet I made :)

All in all it was the loveliest weekend full of drunk members of my boyfriend's family, pink chinos on ed and camping out in a conservatory. I hope you all had lovely weekends :)

Prom Perfect?

Prom is always a conflicting decision on just what sort of look to go for. Classy, striking or girly? To get the balance between standing out and being a shrinking violet. So you'll all of probably clocked by now that I don't live in the states and over here in the UK we're not as prom crazy as the rest of the world seems to be, however my boyfriend's fancy pants school does like to celebrate their graduating students in style with The Leavers Ball.

Getting Ready

Weez, Sophie and Emily helped me get ready. I'm wearing a H+M dress that I scoped out for £29.99, a very proud purchase. My stockings are by Falke on behalf of mytights.com and the shoes you may recognise from a previous post of the Reiss Sample Sale.

Make up was Topshop tinted strobe light moisturiser, Revlon Photo Ready HD Foundation, The Body Shop London College of Fashion Illuminator, Bobbi Brown Blusher in Nectar, Magnificent Eyes No7 Mascara, Mac LipLiner in Redd and No7 Red lipstick in Striking. My eyeshadow pallette was Storm by Topshop Make up.

The Event

What did you guys do/wear for leavers?! We were at the grange city hotel in Tower Hill :)

Wonderbra Brunch

Hi everyone! I'm really sorry that I haven't been posting a lot recently. I've been ill with a stomach bug and also dealing with some really personal things. I hope you understand.

The lovely Sarah from Wonderbra invited me to a brunch of Bacon Ciabattas, seriously good coffee and colourful fruit! Three other bloggers: Amelia of Amelia's Fashion Land, Susie of Take Out Couture, and Sherin of HiFashion. We are all going to be guestbloggers for Wonderbra for a week in July! How exciting!

The room was amazingly decorated with tarmat, colourful buckets, picnic tables and garden sheds, the rest of the offices were surrounded by men giving the six women squeezing bras in an indoor garden very strange looks!

We were talked through the collections, got a sneak peek at some of next season's goodies and I'll let you know some of the secrets for my upcoming blog posts for wonderbra as they come!
